Big Brows: How to Create Perfect Eyebrows

We have gone from Bette Davis' lines

Bette Davis

to Elizabeth Taylor's bold brows

Elizabeth Taylor

and ended up with Chanel's eyebrow art.

Chanel Winter 2012
But for now (off catwalk) it is Audrey Hepburn's beautiful brows that dominate this year

Audrey Hepburn Brows
and Savi will show you how it's done...

1.    Start by shaping the brow. Savi recommends a beauty technician to wax/pluck/thread your eyebrows - they know what they're doing and are less likely to leave you brow-less! If you don't want to spend your money on professionals, here are our top tips
♥ Always shape from under the brow and never above

♥ Invest in some sharp tweezers to get the smallest and finest hair

♥ Pluck straight after the shower when your pores are open (less pain!)

♥ Never over pluck your brows - just aim to tidy them

♥ Follow this diagram for the perfect shape

1.    To make your brows bolder (or wider), use Chanel’s eyebrow constructor. Gently draw on one line at a time, do not colour like a colouring pencil! Then smudge in with the constructing end to create your desired shape (see options below).

2.    Apply Touche Éclat to the area beneath the eyebrow and above the eye to highlight the brow.

3.    To keep your brows tidy all day, finish with Brow Fix to hold all the hairs in place.

Everyone needs to know how to do a perfect smokey eye - just like BEYONCE

1. You need a range of eye shadows including a black, dark grey, light grey and a white - SAVI uses Sleek eye shadow palette

2. Using the light grey cover the eyelid using the eye shadow sponge

3. Using the darker grey and a brushbrush over three quearters of the eye leaving the inner corner light grey.

4. Using the blackand the brush brush over the darker grey area

5. Using a clean brush you know want to merge the eye shadows slightly so the don't look like three blocked colours

6. Outline the eye heavily using a black eyeliner, often using the eyeliner and thensmudging it is a good technique - SAVI uses rimmel London

7. SAVI like to add a small amount of dark purple eye shadow in the outer corners of the eye

8. Using a clean brush ensure the darker shadows come jsut out of the eyelid so when your eyes are open everyone can see the shadow.

9. In the inner corner of your eyes using a very fine brush - SAVI uses a lip liner brush - use a white shadow and outline slightly the edge of your eyes in the corner

10. Now apply mascara or false eye lashes - SAVI uses Rimmel London ultimate lashes mascara and reccomends Millie Mackintosh's false lashes in stock in Selfridges

Create your own studded look...

You will need:
  1. Wash the shirt to soften the denim
  2. When dry, mark on the desired position of the studs
  3. Poke spikes through the material, covering the marker pen, and fold pack to hold in place
Savi loves embellishment on the collar and pocket

If you don't have the time or patience to poke holes through your clothes, a great alternative is a collar necklace. Savi loves our new one from Topshop:

Nails

You can now buy studs to go on your nails! Easy to use and available in all different shapes, you can create some long lasting nail designs to match your new biker gear...

Savi loves these Andrea Fullerton Gold Nail Studs, £5 from Amazon

But if you can’t get hold of nail studs, here’s what Savi did instead...

Just apply a base coat and colour, then using a cocktail stick add gold spots for a 2D version.
